Why I Decided To Rebrand

May 19, 2017

I’ve been toying with the idea of changing my blog for a little while now, when I put the feelers out there on social media the general consensus was that people liked the name Life As Three so I thought I would give a little explanation as to why I’ve decided to make this change:

Website name change: Whilst I liked Life As Three and many followers on social media were in agreement, my husband and I do hope to have more children in the future and that would make the name sort of irrelevant. It works for us at the moment but it wasn’t going to work long term.

Why now: Some people might think to wait and see if we do have another baby and then rename the site at that point, the problem with doing that is the amount of effort required to transfer a site to a new space. Anyone who has tried to relocate a blog to a new hosting space will agree, it is a massive ball ache! My site has only been running for less than a year and it was already too large to be transferred the way we wanted to due to the number of images in my posts. Waiting even longer to make the move whilst continuing to add content would have made it an almost impossible task.

New name: Picking a name is the hardest thing, it has to represent you and who you are but also be catchy that people will remember it. I battled for a name for weeks, it went round and round in my head even in my dreams and I realised I was thinking too hard about it. Trying too hard to come up with something original when in fact my name is pretty original and there is nothing more that better represents me than my name. Thus, rachelebuehi.com was born. If you’re wondering how to pronounce my surname its “eh-boy-he” I get asked this question literally everywhere I go but I understand that people still get it wrong.

New look: What’s the point in a re-launch if you’re not going to spruce things up a little. I decided to change the layout and look of my site to inject a little more colour. I love this knew appearance and I think that now I have more content to share with readers it is really well suited to this style.

New social media: With a new site comes new social media handles. I’ve updated all of my accounts to reflect my new name change. Please give me a follow, I’ll follow you back: Facebook search Rachel Ebuehi parenting & lifestyle blog. Twitter search @rachelebuehi. Instagram search @rachelebuehi. Pinterest search @rachelebuehi. Sensing a theme here?

What you can expect from rachelebuehi.com: Pretty much exactly what you were getting before. I don’t intend to change my content or my style of posts. I will still write about my journey and experiences in motherhood. Give advice and recommendations as well as product reviews and I also intend to inject some fashion, beauty and lifestyle posts too because every woman is so much more than just a mum.

If there are any particular posts or information you would like to see on the blog please let me know by either leaving a comment below, on my social media or in a DM. I will do my best to oblige.

I really hope you like my new site as much as I do, I’m so proud of it and need to give a humongous thank you to Mr Ebuehi for doing 99% of the work in getting this new site ready. Please subscribe if you would like to be notified of new posts and I can’t wait for us to continue on our journey together.
