What I Got For My 30th Birthday

March 12, 2018

I’ve never done a post like this before because I’m never really sure how it’ll come across. The concept of it feels so show-offy but it’s also a chance for me to say thank you and show appreciation for the gifts people have given me to celebrate my birthday.

I love reading other people’s posts like this so I thought I would give this a go and show you what I got for my birthday.

I’ve been so unbelievably spoilt by friends and family and there has definitely been a bit of a theme with gifts; so much so I can group them together into four categories:

 Beauty

Burt Bees lip balms; a set of three in a keepsake tin. There is the original one which smells minty and tingles on your lips. One with mango butter and one with acia (which I have no idea what it is or to how say it) but they all smell divine.

Champneys nail cream and glass nail file; perfect size for my handbag and the hand cream is so good and smells lovely too.

M&S Royal Jelly hand cream set; continuing the trend I also received a set of four hand creams all with different flower scents which are also perfect handbag size. No need to buy hand cream for about a year now.

Clarins lip set; this came in a little bag with a lip stick and gloss (pictured) and also a nude gloss and lip oil which makes your lips feel so soft.

Neal’s Yard Remedies shower gel; as if I needed an excuse to spend even longer in the shower, this geranium and orange shower gels smells like chocolate orange in a bottle.

Accessories

Bird print purse which has enough card slots for all my cards which never happens so I love that!

Pandora gift card which I can assure you won’t last more than a couple of days in my purse before I spend it because I’m a bit obsessed with Pandora.

Wish bracelet; this is the cutest idea. It’s a little silver star on a grey chord and as you tie it on your wrist you make a wish. So sweet.

Pink and white scarf; I love this! The colours are beautiful and it’s pure cotton so it’s so soft. I also love that we have no idea where it’s from. My friend can’t remember and there are no tags so it’s a bit of a secret.

Three ring bangle; this was a gift from my best friend that I helped to choose but I had only seen it online and it’s so much more beautiful in person. The bangle is hammered and has a really lovely shine to it when it catches the light and the three little rings are to represent my three decades of life.

Pandora rose gold claps bangle; this was a special gift from my parents I love it so much. I have had my eye on it for a while and now it has a special meaning and I will keep it for ever. It’s part of the Moments charm collection but I don’t intend to wear any charms on it, it’s beautiful as a bracelet all on its own.

Accessorize voucher (not pictured) I forgot to add this to the photo but I also received a voucher that is already burning a hole in my purse.

Not included in the original photos because I took them yesterday are the above gifts from my wonderful team at work.

I’ve been so spoilt again with a scarf from Accessorize, an amazing smelling candle from Blush and a pouch bag from Katie Loxton which I just love. I might have to find an excuse to go out just so I can use it.

Family

Framed photo from my husband and a framed quote from Amelia (the quote is already hanging on the wall) but this photo means so much to me. Her first snow day and even though she didn’t smile it’s still a beautiful photo that will sit on display in our living room.

Flowers from my Mum & Dad that also came with a 30th balloon and a box of hand picked chocolates. These flowers are gorgeous, the chocolates were delicious and the balloon, well that’s been claimed by a certain toddler.

Restaurant voucher for us to go out as a family and enjoy a special meal together.

The Big One

I’ve spoken about this camera already but now that its been my birthday I can officially say that I got a Canon M6 for my 30th birthday. I love it so much and whilst it took weeks to decide which one to buy I’m so happy with my choice.

I can already see an improvement in my photos and blog posts look so much better with proper camera photos.

As you can see, I’ve been so unbelievably spoilt and I’m so so grateful for every gift received, they’re all special and will all be cherished and well loved.

I hope you have enjoyed this post, I really do hope it has come across the way I wanted it to I would hate for anyone to think I was showing off or bragging because that isn’t my intention at all I just wanted to share my delight and say thank you to everyone who made my 30th birthday so special.

Also, before I sign off, a massive thank you to my best friend’s colleague for making the most amazing and delicious birthday cake for me.

Rachel xx
