As most of you will know I’ve been trying to get back on my weight loss journey and it’s been mostly going great. I’ve lost 6lbs so far and I feel like I am in better control of my food choices.
Not all days are perfect but I’m trying not to let one bad meal or snack ruin my whole day or week. I get a lot of questions about my calorie allowance and what I eat during a normal day so I thought I would share a whole day with you.
For those of you who are familiar with My Fitness Pal you’ll know that it’s a calorie counting app on my phone that allows me to input my meals and snacks, water intake and exercise throughout the day. When I first joined the app it asked me questions about my age, weight, height and lifestyle to determine how many calories per day I should consume in order to achieve my weight loss goals.
After answering the questions and deciding I wanted to lose 1lb per week the app allocated me 1820 calories per day to achieve this.
The following is what I ate on Saturday, I’ve chosen the weekend because it’s easier for me to take (nice) photos of my meals and snacks at home than it is at work. I’ll include details of what I ate and also a breakdown of the calories:
Two slices of Warburtons Toastie 400g bread 140 calories, 10g spread 66 calories, 1 pink lady apple 54 calories.
Asda Pesto Chicken and Pasta Salad 227 calories
Pasta Bolognese with 20g grated cheddar 653 calories
Mid-afternoon – 50g grapes 34 calories, 30g pineapple 14 calories, 36g mango 23 calories
Evening – Fab lolly 82 calories, Fibre One brownie 87 calories, Fibre One cinnamon drizzle 87 calories, 2 bourbon biscuits 128 calories.
My total calories for the day – 1595 calories which is comfortably under my calorie goal for the day.
I hope you have found this helpful, if you want to follow along with my weight loss journey, I have a dedicated Instagram account for it @the_slimming_mama if you want to check it out.
