Time Saving Organising For New Mummies – A Guest Post by Louise Myers of Top Cleaning Services London

April 12, 2017

New mommies have it hard. It is no secret that having a baby changes your life, your regime, your routine, you, just everything. And it definitely changes your home. It is widely known that when you have a baby you cannot keep leading the same life you once did.

For example, you will no longer get to sleep full 8 hours a night. You will need to get up and feed and change your baby’s diaper. Prepare separate food for the baby, etc.

And with all other changes about your personal life, there are also many changes that need to be made into your home. For example, baby proofing the house once the baby starts crawling and walking.

And of course, since you will not have much free time for yourself what is left for other things and errands, you would need to adjust your schedule and make it more flexible. For example, you will need to be quicker in doing the things you do for yourself or when you do some work that is not linked to your baby.

In order to save some time and complete your chores faster, you should first make your own comprehensive check list and put them in order – make them simple and easy to complete one at a time, put the ones with priority on top of your list.

When it comes to cleaning and organizing quickly, make sure you combine your baby-related chores with your home chores. For example, your baby dirty diaper bag is full and needs to be thrown away? Collect all other garbage bags from the house and make one trip.

While your baby is napping, go quickly around the house and collect all dirty laundry and run your laundry machine and even your dish washing machine. While they do their jobs you will have time to feed your baby or do some other cleaning work.

You can also use the time with your baby to organize your home. When your baby is fed and changed and is playing safely in the playpen, spare 10 minutes to organize and clean the room. Take a look at the things that do not belong in the room and prepare them in a basket or a box to move to the room they belong to.

Cleaners from Top Cleaning Services London say you need to get used to thinking in advance and using your time wisely. When your baby plays in the living room, stay in the room so you can watch over it but do your own job. Put your living room in order – de-clutter, organize, dust or sweep, etc. You can do the same in any other room – when your baby has just been fed and is playing on its chair, you can do a quick loading of the dishwasher or washing dishes by hand, or putting things back in their places.

New mommies always have it the hardest and it is a widely known fact. If you are a new mom and are just starting to get used to the fact that there is a baby that needs your constant care, you just need to remain calm and have a plan for everything.

Plan your chores ahead, use the minutes when your baby is engaged or asleep to catch up on your chores, always stay and work in the same room as your baby, break down the bigger cleaning chores into smaller and simpler ones.

In time you will notice that you have built up a routine that saves you time and allows you to keep your home clean and organized even with a baby in the house.
