The Most Perfect Scarf, Ever!

April 6, 2017

You might have noticed that monochrome is something of a big deal these days however with my English Rose complexion I look downright deceased in white so my neutral palette consists of black and grey. Not the grey of my old secondary school uniform, that is a shade of grey only found in Skoolkit but a soft, dove grey.

For about five years now I’ve been searching for the perfect grey scarf, people have offered to buy me one as a gift for Christmas and birthdays but I’ve politely declined because what I have been looking for is very specific. I knew the shade, shape, material I wanted but I just couldn’t describe it to anyone. One of those “I’ll know it when I find it” kinda things. Well I think I’ve found it…

A couple of days ago I took a really random visit to Zara, I don’t even really know why I went in. Zara’s clothes didn’t fit me before having a baby and they sure as hell don’t fit me now but I was just strolling around trying to get Amelia off to sleep her pram and just wandered into the store.

Lo and behold what do I find? Only the most perfect grey scarf. The perfect shade, the perfect size, the perfect material. It was exactly what I have been looking for the last few years and I was in love with it. I don’t even care that it’s hotter than usual for April this year, this scarf is going everywhere with me. It the perfect size and thickness to keep me warm on chillier days and living by the coast the wind can really catch you out sometimes.

Since I wear scarves all year round regardless of the weather (hey this is England and you can never be too sure) I am going to get more than my fair use out of this beauty.

I must commend Zara for their up-sell technique, along their queue they have positioned a lovely display of perfumes and normally I wouldn’t have even given them a look but it was taking forever to serve each customer so I had nothing else to do but start sniffing perfume testers. I loved the smell of their Jasmine fragrance and picked up one of the small 30ml bottles – well played Zara counter staff, well played.

I have to say though, I am really impressed with the perfume, its a lovely scent and it lasts all day. I can even smell it when my arm gets wet giving Amelia her bath before bed, a good 12 hours after applying it in the morning. Not only does it smell great but it comes in a super cute little leather case, each of the leather range perfumes had a different colour case and since it was such a great price at only £7.99 for 30ml it’s going to be great as an everyday perfume saving my expensive stuff for special occasions.

What started as a random stroll around a shopping center has absolutely made my week, I’m so happy with these little treats.

Rachel xx
