March Favourites

April 6, 2018

March is a crazy month in our house, it’s a long month but it’s also so busy with celebrations that it seems to lie past. I can’t believe March is over but it also seems so long ago that I was celebrating my 30th birthday and our good friends tied the knot.

It’s been super hard to choose my March favourites because I had so many amazing gifts from my birthday that I could be here all day so I’ve tried really hard to find things beyond my birthday that I’m grateful for this month:

My 30th birthday

Of course this has to feature in my favourite things about March because hey, it’s my birthday but also because it was special one this year and I was able to celebrate will all my favourite people and was so spoilt. All of my gifts were wonderful, I did a whole blog post about them if you want to check it out here.

Minetta Jewellery ‘Mama’ bracelet

This wasn’t a birthday gift although it arrived on my birthday so it sort of felt like one. This bracelet is so beautiful, hand made and engraved with the word Mama and a small heart, it’s delicate enough to wear everyday and I have done so since the day it arrived.

Our new kitchen

Over the last two weeks we’ve been in a bit of upheaval whilst having our brand new kitchen fitted. The process was stressful and being without a kitchen for a week was awful but I hated our old kitchen so much that I just kept telling myself it would be worth it in the long run.

I wasn’t disappointed and our new kitchen is everything I wanted it to be, I’m actually starting to enjoy cooking and spending time in there which is a first for this house.

Bloom Boutique initial A necklace

Last year I bought myself a simple disc necklace engraved with an A, I wore it every single day until Amelia accidentally snapped it. I was gutted at first but then the shopaholic in me reminded me it was a chance to buy a new one, a nicer one.

So that’s what I did, I bought a new engraved disc necklace, on the front is a simple A and on the back is engraved ‘my love’ and I love it so much. It’s beautiful, shiny, fits perfectly and you will find it permanently around my neck keeping my little girl close at all times.

EOS Lip Balm

I’ve discovered a new favourite beauty product this month, EOS lip balms. I’ve seen them on social media before but never found them in stores, until our local Tesco had a couple of the range available and I decided to give it a try.

I bought the coconut milk one to start with and it’s amazing, it smells and tastes like coconut and makes your lips feel so soft. Just the other day I bought another one; strawberry sorbet and it tastes like strawberry laces which now makes it my favourite flavour so far. Love love love!

M&S cat succulent

Okay, who doesn’t love a plat pot in the shape of a cat. I mean I couldn’t resist this little thing when I popped out to get lunch at work. I love everything about it; the colours, the cat face, the fact it’s really hard to kill a succulent. Unfortunately this little guy isn’t on the M&S website anymore but they might still sell them in store.

Zara purfume

My favourite go to everyday scents are from Zara these days, I think they smell amazing, they last for ages and at £5.99 a bottle they’re perfect for everyday wear and for work.

I’ve recently bought two new scents; white jasmine and gardenia; beautiful scents and super cute bottles too.

Cantu curly hair shampoo

I’ve mentioned in a recent post how much I was struggling with Amelia’s curls. How they were getting knotted and frizzy and almost impossible to comb. Upon recommendation I bought some Cantu products from Boots and have been using them on her for a couple of weeks now. They have made such a difference it’s unbelievable and I’m so glad I reached out for help online as there were so many people who responded with help and recommendations.

If you want to read the post about it, you can find it here.

Those are some of my favourite things from March; April is set to be a quieter month in terms of celebrations but that’s not a bad thing. It’s a month to rest and recharge our batteries. A month to try some new meal ideas in our new kitchen and to not do any more DIY which I’m very pleased about.

Rachel xx
