Why We Love A Daily Massage With Kokoso Baby

January 29, 2017

New babies skin is the softest most silky smooth thing on earth and you want to do everything you can to keep it that way. After a few weeks I had noticed that Amelia’s legs were starting to feel a little dry which is was probably down to the cold weather we always have at this time of year.

I had heard a lot of great things about Kokoso Baby Coconut Oil and decided to give it a try. Kokoso Baby is perfect for babies skin because it is so pure, there is literally nothing else in it! Just 100% natural coconut oil.

We use it after every bath each morning, I massage it all over her body and hair and whilst we have been super lucky that she has never suffered with any skin irritations or problems I can still see the effects it has on her skin, it gives her a lovely glow and it smells divine.

I’ve been asked a few times what I use on Amelia’s hair to keep her curls looking glossy and under control…well it’s no secret recipe, it is simply a small amount of Kokoso oil rubbed into her hair and combed using her baby comb. As it dries the oil leaves her hair looking almost glossy wet and her curls are perfect (until she goes to bed and messes it all up)

Here’s a few reasons why we love a post-bath massage:

  • It’s a great relaxation time for her after the sometimes stressful event of taking a bath.
  • By gently rubbing her body, it gets her used to being touched. When I first started giving her these massages she hated me putting the oil in her hair and on her face. I always left it till last because she would scream the house down and that would be the end of it but now after a couple of weeks she has gotten used to it and I think she quite likes it now.
  • It gives me a chance to have a proper inspection of her skin, when she’s in the bath my concentration is taken up with keeping her head above water and washing her so I don’t have time to inspect her. After her bath is done and it’s massage time I’m able to take a good look at her, everywhere I apply the oil I can check her for little marks, scratches, rashes, spots, anything that wasn’t there yesterday. Luckily I’ve not found anything but it’s great peace of mind to know that I’ve checked her head to toe and given her the all clear.
  • The freedom of just having her nappy on lets her go a bit nuts, she loves just lying on the bed kicking her legs and flapping her arms around, she tells me stories (in her own language but I just nod and encourage her to tell me more) and eventually all the excitement wears her out and she’s ready for her morning nap.

If your baby does suffer from skin irritations such as eczema there are some brilliant real mama and baby reviews on the Kokoso Baby website (I was once up at 4am feeding Amelia and read their entire website) so if you want some more information about them, check out their site.

I am a huge fan of this stuff, I love knowing that its completely natural and I really enjoy the closeness we share when she has her massage every day, I would just like to say that this is not a sponsored post, I just wanted to share with you a product that I absolutely love and think you might too.
