What My Kid Wore #12

March 21, 2018

What a week and it’s only Wednesday. This week we’ve been having our new kitchen fitted which means we’ve been without a working kitchen since last Friday and with a toddler that is hard work.

It’s also meant that the house has been in disarray with stuff everywhere and a LOT of DIY going on in preparation for the new kitchen being installed. Poor Amelia doesn’t understand why the kitchen is suddenly gone, why she can’t go in the room anymore or why I am constantly shouting for her not to touch things but I just keep telling myself that it’ll be worth it in the end.

I’ve tried to keep Amelia’s routine as normal as possible and also keep her away from the building site that has become our house so over the weekend I dressed her up and took her out for a little lunch and shopping with my mum to get her out of the house for a few hours.

Her outfit was put together with the view to keep her warm since we had all the windows open to relieve the smell of paint and it’s been bloody freezing again this weekend. So I chose her heart jumper from M&S, pink leggings from Next and dusty pink bow from Evie Michelle

We had a lovely couple of hours in our local M&S having lunch and checking out the sales; we bought Amelia a new coat as an Easter present so she will be able to wear it in a couple of weeks time and it makes her look so grown up I can’t cope.

After shopping we came home for some play time, it still makes me so proud when she chooses a book from the shelf and sits herself down to read it. Often she will bring them to me to hold for her whilst she turns the pages, getting off my lap to go and bring another one, she will happily do this till all the book are off the shelf but I don’t mind at all because books are so important and I love that she’s into them at the moment.

So that’s it for this week, sorry it’s not been a glamorous affair but home improvements are never that fun when you’re in the middle of it all and Amelia has been wonderful through all the work we’ve been doing.

I can’t wait to show you the new kitchen when it’s all finished…

Rachel xx
