The weather might not seem very summery right now but we did have a little flicker of warmth, even if only for 4 days, and it got me super excited about Amelia’s summer wardrobe.
This year for me it’s all about Next, I am loving their summer denim at the moment. I think I’m so used to seeing Amelia wrapped up in trousers, vests and jumpers that the thought of warm weather just got me really excited and I couldn’t help but pick her up a few bits from their new summer collection.
My favourite is this blue dress; I love the material, the unfinished edges and the gorgeous bow on the back. It’s going to look so cute with a little pair of sandals but I might have to team it with tights and a cardi to get the most use out of it at the moment.
I also picked up these denim style shorts and skirt because I love that they’re neutral and will go with anything. Unfortunately, they’re too big for her at the moment and even with a top tucked in she can’t keep them up around her waist bless her.
Hopefully by the time the sun reappears, she will have grown a little and they will fit her better but for now, I’ll just have to dream of sunshine and summery outfits for a little longer.
I’m also super gutted that the sandals I bought for her (also from Next) were too small and I had to return them. They didn’t have the next size up so I’ve bought her a different pair from Matalan which I’m hoping she doesn’t grow out of before summer returns.
