First Birthday Planning With Pinterest

October 9, 2017

In just a week my little 6 lb 12 oz newborn will be turning one! I can’t believe this day has come around so fast, a whole year old.

I wasn’t going to do anything big for her birthday, I didn’t see the point but then as it got closer I couldn’t help myself. I wanted a first birthday party for her, I wanted a cake and balloons and an excuse to invite loads of people round to celebrate.

So what do you do when you want inspiration? You hit Pinterest like there’s no tomorrow. I pinned and pinned and pinned some more. I love Pinterest so much, for everything but especially for things I’ve not done before, it’s a great way to get ideas and inspiration.

I thought I would share with you some of the images on Pinterest that have inspired Amelia’s first birthday party, I’ve tried not to Pin things that are completely ridiculous and un-achievable because I don’t have skills at crafting or the time to be making handmade decorations. I did try my hand at tissue paper pom poms, that was a disaster so I quickly came to my senses and hit up my Amazon account.

Here are some of my favourite Pins that have helped me to plan Amelia’s party:

Oh just looking at these pictures makes me so excited to celebrate Amelia’s birthday next week, I can’t wait for her to be surrounded by friends and family, to see the smile on her face and to enjoy her birthday cake.

I’ve ordered her birthday cake from the same lady who made our wedding cake 5 years ago and it’s such a lovely sentiment that she is now making our baby’s first birthday cake. I can’t wait to see it in person, and I can’t wait to eat a slice, or two.

I’ll try to snap as many pictures as I can on the day (shouldn’t be hard, I’m addicted to taking photos) and I’ll do a post after to show you how it all turned out.

Rachel xx
