Any man can be a father but it takes a special man to be a dad.
Father’s Day is right around the corner, doesn’t it feel like we just had Easter? I think that Father’s Day (and Mother’s Day) are so special because it’s a time to really stop and thank your parent or partner for all that they do for you.
It’s a reminder to stop for a moment and to celebrate all those unspoken sacrifices they make, all the things they do every day that you take for granted and maybe this year is their first Father’s Day or their first as a Grandad. Whether it’s their first, fifth or 30th Father’s Day they’re all so important.
I think that sometimes in the madness and chaos of parenthood Dads can get a little neglected, we’re so focused on doing our best for our babies and they take up all of our time that sometimes Dad’s get pushed aside or we forget to sit down and spend quality time with them like we used to.
Let’s all take this Father’s Day to say a huge thank you to our dads, granddads, husbands and partners, without them we literally wouldn’t have our children and without them, raising our children would be so much harder. I cherish our family time, all of us together at home, bonding and spending time together. We don’t have to go anywhere or do anything special, being together building memories is just fine with me.
