It’s a new year and with it comes the anticipation of all the new films due to be released in the coming 12 months. There’s some crackers coming our way, if you’re into super heroes and big block busters you’re going to be spoilt for choice.
Here’s my top 10 films that I’m most looking forward to:
Pirates of the Caribbean; Salazar’s Revenge (AKA Dead Men Tell No Lies)
This is one of my all time favourite film series, mostly because I just love Johnny Depp as Captain Jack and that’s enough to make me want to watch this new addition over and over again. There is a bit of confusion over the title of this film with IBDM confirming both to be correct…we will have to wait and see.
Beauty and the Beast
There has been so much talk about this real life version of the Disney classic film and huge expectations on how Emma Watson will perform as Belle. Personally I have enjoyed all of the real life Disney adaptations so far so I have no reason to think this one won’t be great as well.
Logan
Welcome to yet another Wolverine movie, this one sees Hugh Jackman’s character trying to protect his clone from capture, working with Professor X to keep her safe. As far as I’m concerned they can make as many Wolverine movies as the studio can churn out, I bloody love Hugh Jackman.
Guardians of the Galaxy 2
Our favourite intergalactic messed up family are back, trying to find out more about Peter Quill’s parents they inevitably come up against some baddies, set to the mixtape #2 soundtrack. Who doesn’t want to see a tiny baby Groot though…
Spider-Man Homecoming
The young Peter Parker who featured in Captain America Civil War is back with his own movie. This edition picks up where CA Civil War left off, with Peter now under the guidance of Tony Stark and trying to navigate his new skills and make himself one of the Avengers.
Despicable Me 3
Our favourite little yellow minions are back, this time a 1980’s child star has his mind set on global domination. BANANA!
Justice League
Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash all come together to create a new super team to fight against evil threats but will their combined powers be enough…
Star Wars Episode VIII
Promising another full action film, we continue the journey with Rae and Finn into the next chapter of the Star Wars saga.
Fast & Furious 8
We weren’t sure we would see another Furious movie following the death of Paul Walker but here we are, when a mysterious woman seduces Dom into the world of crime and a betrayal of those closest to him, the crew face trials that will test them as never before.
Wonder Woman
After making her debut in Batman Vs Superman Wonder Woman is back with her own film. When an American pilot crashes on their shores and tells of a massive conflict raging in the outside world, Diana leaves her home, convinced she can stop the threat. Fighting alongside man in a war to end all wars, Diana will discover her full powers and her true destiny.
